Chami created a small preserving business out of his home four years ago which has quickly taken off and expanded. Using the fruits and vegetables grown at his Moshav, right on the border with Sinai, he has created a line of products that offer a delicious taste of the desert. Many of the workers of this operation are from a nearby youth village where young Olim come to learn Hebrew. Chami mostly uses the vegetables and fruits grown at his Moshav.

Desert Magic Products
There are a few products from Desert Magic this year, a Negev producer in Kadesh Barnea who mainly uses his moshav’s produce, but sources olive oil and honey from other Negev neighbors.
We’re bringing over a Pear Cardamom Chutney, a Cherry Tomato spread and an Olive Tapanade, plus one more chutney yet to be decided for Passover. The cherry tomatoes in Desert Magic’s spreads are grown in Moshav Kadesh Barnea and are irrigated with brackish water. The salt water growing tomatoes are a local point of pride.
